Amber blasts Johnny Depp before hard cross-examination: He’s a liar, and I will

After a week-long hiatus, Johnny Depp-Amber Hard’s defamation trial resumed Monday, with Hard taking a stand in his own defense.

The tone of this week’s testimony was quite different, though, as Hard is now being cross-examined by Deep Attorney Camille Vasquez.

Hard and Vasquez exchanged, at least, Depp’s lawyer pointed to the alleged inconsistency of Amber’s earlier testimony, and Hard maintained that he had said nothing but the truth during the swearing-in.

Depp and Hard’s 2015 fight in Australia has been a major point of contention between the two sides, with both giving a completely different account of what happened that night.

Depp says he was attacked by Hard, who threw a glass bottle at him, cutting off the tip of his finger.

During his second day at the stand, Hard alleges that Depp sexually assaulted him with a bottle after he flew into an unpleasant rage.

In a statement issued before his interrogation, Hard’s representatives warned that Depp’s lawyers would try to dilute the water and obscure the truth of the situation.

“Judging lawyers have an old saying: when the facts are in your favor, argue the facts; when the facts are not in your favor, move off the stage,” the statement began.

“Today, we hope Depp’s attorneys will jump on the victim instead.”

Hard’s representatives predicted that Depp’s lawyers would argue on the basis of emotion rather than reality in an attempt to elevate the actress.

“We fear it will be equally embarrassing and desperate,” the statement continued.

“And, irresistible evidence – the truth – is not in Depp’s favor. What we suspect Depp’s attorneys will avoid is the central issue in this trial: whether Amber or a woman has the First Amendment right to freedom of speech.”

Depp is suing Hard for 50 million, alleging that he caused irreparable damage to his career in 2018. The Washington Post Op-ed piece where he identifies himself as a victim of domestic abuse.

According to a Depp spokesperson, Hardy lay on the stand trying to justify the comments he made in his article.

The statement said, “As Mr. Depp’s attorneys correctly predicted in their opening statement last month, Mrs. Hard actually provided ‘her life performance’ in her direct examination.”

“While Ms. Hard’s stories continue to grow into new and useful narratives, Mr. Depp’s recollections have been exactly the same for the six painful years since his first complaint.”

The statement ended with a promise that Vasquez’s interrogation would expose Hard’s alleged lies.

“Its true – true – it’s the same regardless of the environment in which it’s presented,” Depp’s team wrote.

“The upcoming cross-examination from Mr. Depp’s team will tell the most, and will certainly highlight the many misconceptions that Miss Hard has tried to pass as true throughout her complex testimony.”

Herd’s cross-examination is expected to continue today and Wednesday.

The final argument in the case is set for May 27.
