Corey Wharton and Taylor Selfridge welcome a new baby to their small family!

On June 1, Taylor gave birth to an adorable baby girl named Maya Grace Wharton.

This is their second child together – they also share a two-year-old girl named Mila – and Corey Ryder’s father, a five-year-old girl he shares with Cheyenne Floyd.

Fans of the MTV stars were somewhat concerned because on June 1, Corey announced that Taylor was going into delivery, but the couple has been quiet ever since.

Now, a week after that update, we know why.

Taylor and Corey revealed in posts on their Instagram accounts that the baby Maya was born with a rare condition called tricuspid atresia, a congenital heart disease that prevents one of the heart valves from developing in the uterus.

He has already had surgery to fix it, and they say he will have two more as he grows older.

In Taylor’s post about Maya, she revealed that they actually learned about the disease when she was 22 weeks pregnant, and she said that when they heard the news, “our lives were turned upside down in a matter of seconds” is certainly understandable.

“Maya came to this world with a lot more work than expected and with amazing cardiologists we were able to place a stent instead of the first open heart surgery,” he wrote.

He explained that the process took place when the baby was only six days old, and with all of this, “I felt so helpless to take care of my own child, my hands were hurting to hold him, to feed him, to wake him up.” “

“I really caught her for the first time at 5 days old. The last 9 days have been a complete rollercoaster for us and have been my most challenging week as a mom so far.”

“It’s something I wanted to do with everyone because I found myself looking for other heart uncles out there who were feeling my pain and I got help from some other mom,” Taylor said.

“I’m still new to it but please don’t hesitate to talk to any of the mothers out there because I need you too.”

She said they would be able to bring Maya home this weekend, and she ended her post with a message to her baby, writing “We still have a long way to go but I’ll always be by your side, no matter how hard it is.”

“Let’s go home now, sweet girl.”

For Corey’s post, he started talking about the emotions he has felt since Maya’s birth and how difficult it was. She thanked her fans and followers for all the good wishes throughout Taylor’s pregnancy and delivery.

He explained his condition a bit more, and said that he was recovering from his surgery, but he had to do one more when he was four to six months old and another when he was three or four years old.

“It’s been Maya’s journey and I’ve been debating for a long time about how I would share this news or if I would like to share this news,” he admitted.

“I think what compels me to share her journey is all the positive stories we hear on YouTube and on the Internet. If we can spread her story and touch the next family that is going through it, that’s what we want to do.”

Like Taylor, she ended her announcement with a few words for her new little girl.

“Daddy loves you so much,” he wrote.

“We are always by your side. I am so proud of you for going through all of this. You have a story, and we can’t wait to see the flower of your personality and I can’t wait to see you. Sisters for you. They have a lot of love and they are both going to be incredible big sisters to you. “

We can’t imagine how horrible it would be for the family, but it seems baby Maya is surrounded by so much love and support, and it’s such good news that she will be able to go home soon.
