What Prince Harry, Meghan Merkel have to say about their royal tour

On its heels Prince William And Kate Middleton ‘A recent tour of the Caribbean, which features some controversial moments between the usual Glitz and Glam, we can’t help but think back Prince Harry And Of Megan Merkel The first royal visit as a married couple. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex made a successful first visit to Australia, New Zealand and several other Australian countries, although a royal biographer claimed that Merkel “hated every second of it.” Here’s how Merkel and Harry resolved those allegations in the past.

All about Prince Harry, Megan Merkel’s tour of Australia

In the fall of 2018, just a few months after their grand wedding, Prince Harry and Megan Merkel set out for their first royal visit as a married couple. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex embarked on a jam-packed 16-day tour of Australia, New Zealand, Fiji and Tonga shortly after announcing they were expecting their first child.

There have been conflicting reports about what Merkel thought specifically about her first royal visit, with one royal biographer claiming the Duchess was “hated” at every moment and calling the engagement “meaningless” according to information obtained from a former palace employee. By Tina Brown The Palace Papers: Inside the House of Windsor – The Truth and the Terminal, Published in April, that Merkel “apparently hated every second of it. A former employee of the palace told me he thought the busy itinerary was ‘meaningless’.

Merkel allegedly did not find the “purpose” of the trip

The former palace official was also quoted as saying Merkel “did not understand why things were set up like this. Instead of being excited when thousands of people turned up. [Sydney] Opera House, it was very good, ‘What is the purpose? I don’t understand it. “” Brown added, “This is the representative role of the British monarchy and its traditional agenda, because he wanted to focus on it instead of focusing on it. This kind of engagement is old school, yes, but it creates the classic royal bond that binds. ”

Despite the way Brown described the trip, the reception was overwhelmingly supportive, both in Sussex in the Australian countries and back home in the UK. Some critics have noted that Merkel does not always adhere to the unspoken royal protocol of dressing management, but other members of the royal family have broken the rules without hinting at a pushback (looking at your fashion rebel Kate Middleton). Otherwise, the reviews were brilliant, leading to a hypothetical revelation for Merkel, Brown insisted.

Draw vague portraits of royal biographies

Brown wrote that Merkel’s reaction to the compliment she received for the visit was that she concluded, “Perhaps the king needed more than he needed.” Brown continued, “She acted the equivalent of a blockbuster film and wanted her lead-lady status to be reflected in the light.”

In 2021, a year after returning as a member of the royal family, both Harry and Merkel sat down for an exclusive interview with Oprah Winfrey where they discussed their time on the tour. “My dad, my brother, Kate and everyone else in the family were really welcoming. But after the tour of Australia, it really changed after our tour of the South Pacific,” Harry told the veteran broadcaster. Merkel added: “When we announced that we were pregnant with Archie, this was our first visit.”

Harry added, “But it’s also the first time the family has seen how incredible he is at the job. And it brings back memories.” How Winfrey remembers the Netflix drama The crown Prince Charles was portrayed as being jealous of Princess Diana after their visit to Australia. He then asked if the “memories” Harry was referring to could be true. He replied, “Look, I just want us all to learn from the past.”

Merkel’s detailed ‘tiring’ tour with Oprah Winfrey

In the same interview, Sussex also admitted that the tour, like the others, became “tiring” after a while. During their 16-day trip, the two fit into 26 engagements, which is not a walk in the park. Merkel told Winfrey, “Those tours are – I’m sure they have beautiful pictures and it looks lively and everything is true. It’s really tiring. ”

Considering she was still in the early stages of her first pregnancy with her son Archie Mountbatten-Windsor, it is not surprising that Merkel found the experience “tiring.” As always, we will notice that many of these biographies follow the same story lines set by the tabloids, which have repeatedly been proven false.

Just because Meghan Merkel worked as an actress before joining the royal family doesn’t mean she was a remorseful diva who didn’t mind chasing anyone out of the spotlight. It’s a ridiculous one-dimensional way of describing someone and a particularly rude and dismissive way of dealing with a female co-worker.
